Anyway. That will be solved.
In other news, THE MAN UP TOUR WAS AMAZING TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T GET OVER HOW AWESOME IT WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were SO many people, and when we finally got into the (huge) sanctuary at New Faith Church (predominantly black church, almost everyone there was black--a sprinkling of white people and like, 4 Asians), the short film created for the Man Up Tour was playing. It was about what it means to be a real man, but expressed through the story of a young man (who has a good heart) making all of these really bad mistakes (losing his scholarship, getting kicked out of the program, getting a girl pregnant, drinking and partying, making up excuses). Although I understood the plot, I didn't catch about 50% of the dialogue....not gonna lie, it was kind of hard to understand what they were saying because the actors were all black haha. There were times when parts of the church would erupt in laughter and I would look at my friend and we would both be like, .......lol didn't understand that.
And then they had a short panel discussion (and Lecrae was on it!) about manning up. It was super good, too, just getting to hear where the panelists all came from.
And then the concert itself BLEW ME AWAY. I've never been to a rap/hip-hop concert, and this one was just amazing. SO MANY GREAT RAPPERS. And great material they're rapping on, you know? They split it into sections (envy, responsibility, sexual temptation, courage, repentance, and one more I think), so they'd give a little blurb or story or something before each one. And then they'd start rapping and it was amazing (how many times have I used that word in this post?). Sometimes it was just one rapper onstage, but more often many of the rappers came out and performed together. So it was quality AND quantity and by the middle of the concert I was just like......can't handle the awesomeness. And interspersed in there was spoken word, which I first became acquainted with in Los Angeles two summers ago (when I was on Summer Project in Long Beach), and THAT was absolutely cool (and also pretty black-dominated). So it was a very diverse set of art that was performed, and I seriously believe the $27 I paid to go to this was not enough haha. I guess it was a 3.5 hour-long concert/extra. Sooooo good.
Aaaaannnndd, I took pictures and film :].
Relocating the line, we ended up all walking through this tiny passage because everyone was too lazy to walk around the building hahaha.
People I went with! Jason Lin was there too, but it was so crowded that we never actually found him =[.
Crowded.
Lecraeeeee!!!!!!!
Concert!
More Lecrae.
I really like this picture.
I like this picture too (that's Lecrae).
