Got my 2-year visa with multiple entries to China approved!! Yay! =]
It was almost bad, because when I went to pick it up, I didn't have the slip of paper I needed with me (didn't know I needed it....I thought it was just a receipt lol), and the security guard wouldn't let me in without it. At that point I was somewhat crestfallen, because it was a long drive home and back (the Chinese Consulate is in Montrose btw, kinda random). But then the security guard was like, "You need to make a photocopy of your driver's license then, and that's how they'll get your visa to you." So a little better, but now I needed to find a copy center and then come back. But THEN the security guard said, "The guy outside in the Toyota Sequoia will make a copy for you. He's got a copier in his car."
And I was just like.........what?? I had to repeat what he said just to confirm with him, and then I found the Toyota Sequoia, woke the guy up from a nap he was taking, and had a copy of my driver's license made for a dollar. It was the most ghetto thing I've done in a while lol. I was wondering if he made a business of parking outside the consulate and making copies for people, since a lot of people forget to make passport copies or get stuck in the same situation as me, but apparently he was there on some business of his own as well (but maybe he still does park outside pretty often...?). Lucky me, in any case.
Stood in line, paid the fee, and got my visa. As I was leaving the consulate, I saw another guy utilizing the Toyota Sequoia copy service hahahahaha.
