Hello! Merp. Blegh. I'm tired of eating. Food fatigue, according to my dad. I'm not even eating myself stuffed--I'm just tired of eating so much fancy food ("fancy"....as in, food in fancy restaurants). I have no problem eating food in non-fancy restaurants though. Meh. (Oh yeah, and I keep eating in fancy restaurants because people keep inviting my dad and me to meals because we're visiting/guests of honor. I really appreciate it, but I also really like cheap food....like today for lunch, my dad and I ate with my grandparents at a non-fancy restaurant, and it was $7 USD for 5 dishes, and the four of us were stuffed. And it was yummy. And I was happy.)
My left knee hurts. It feels like I keep hyperextending it or something. Maybe it's just because I'm walking so much.....maybe walking so much in not-too-supportive shoes. Although I seem to have had this problem every so often. Meh.
Tomorrow, I will be going on Shanghai public transportation by myself for the first time! Yay! =D The subway. Good thing most things are in English too, though my limited knowledge of Chinese does actually help.
Speaking of which! My Chinese has improved! YAY! =D So it's not that bad! I guess it is like being thrown in Latin America--my Spanish improves every time I'm there, and degrades every time I'm......not. Lol. YAYAYAY I CAN SPEAK CHINESE!!!!
Okay yeah, so the reason I'm taking public transit by myself tomorrow is because I get to go hang out with Megan and Joyce (Hanszen friends, and both previous roommates with me haha) and some of Joyce's co-workers at Shanghai's Yu Yuan (Yu Gardens). It's pretty famous, and definitely a tourist spot (it's historic; cultural center; little shops; food; etc.). I've been there before (last time I came to China, in 2008), and have some memories of it, but want to go again. And then I believe we're going to the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center after lunch. From Wikipedia: "The centerpiece of the exhibition is a huge scale model of the city of Shanghai, showing all existing and approved buildings. Visitors can view the model from alongside or ascend to a gallery running around it for views from above."
WHOAAA. (H. Lee, I will of course take many photos......SO COOL.) Crazyy. Here's a photo from the internet:
Okay yeah. I'm going to bed now. Wait, my dad is taking a shower and I need to brush my teeth. Sigh. Merppp.
I've been to both Yu Yuan and the Urban Planning Center (when I was in Shanghai in 2010). It was pretty cool because they included the iconic buildings from the Shanghai Expo in the city model so you could recognize that specific area of the city. Which reminds me... I have tons of photos from that trip, haha. Have a good time!
