Coconuts

Have recently been fascinated with these things. Not just coconut water, but the coconuts themselves. Got some on-sale coconut water from HEB, from young Brazilian coconuts. It tasted very different than Thai young fresh coconuts.....basically, Thai coconuts > Brazilian coconuts.

I think I've discovered a new (and SAFE and effective) way of opening coconuts (I know--is there anything new these days on matters/goods of such ancient history?). I think I will try to make a Youtube video of it in the future and maybe become a Youtube star. Just kidding (about the latter part).

Anyway, in case you didn't know, coconut water is an amazing rehydrating liquid--basically a sports drink but way better because it's like bananas (lots of potassium; helps with soreness) + magically rehydrating water + other vitamins and minerals – all dat sugar.

You'll probably hate it at first--I did. Well, maybe that's because I had Latin American coconut water. But young fresh Thai coconut water is soooo good. You should probably learn to love it (it may tend toward one of those acquired tastes things).

And just to clarify, because some people don't believe me when I say this, coconut water is different from coconut milk! I don't think anyone could hate coconut milk because it is so delicious (okay obviously some people can dislike it). I love drinking it in China (and anywhere, I guess) because water is more difficult to get.

Yay coconuts. :)
