Some (very) random thoughts

blanket scarves

how to wear scarves

balayage [looks great; not doing it, for now; sense of change of self?]

can't wear nail polish to boot camp [not that I normally do, but anyway]

wondering if I should have bought my coat next Black Friday/Cyber Monday, but then remembering why I did it this time [b/c it'll already be literally freezing by that time next year in North Dakota]

how my heart betrays me, and yet I can't blame it

where will friendships be five years from now?

being a very different person now than when I first left Carmel, at least in the extroverted-ness sense; I wonder if people feel like it's re-friending a whole new person, as I sometimes feel with others

my anticipation rises for the next chapter of my life—especially for the people I will meet and who will essentially become my family.....different people in different places, but each place I go, I will have a family. "you don't know what it's like until you're a part of it. and then you'll always be a part of the family." as someone described to me, to that effect. maybe it's the vagabond adventurer that life has spit me out to be, but I love the sense of developing and making a family, rather than simply being born into one. or maybe it's the idea of getting to choose my family, rather than not getting to choose my family. and I realize that there is still much to heal and mature from. or maybe it's the idea of knowing that others in the same family will make the same effort as I do to make things work. at what point do you just let it all go? and isn't there a difference between letting it go in frustration, and letting it go in humility? but it is so hard.

in other news, 2 more couples I know got engaged yesterday/today. I've started keeping a list of all the weddings I've either attended or have been invited to, the first one being right about 4 years ago (but I couldn't go 😞). so unless I'm missing someone, I've attended 12 weddings in the last 3-4 years, and have been invited to a further 6, some of which I could not attend, and some of which are upcoming. so 18 total wedding things in the past 4 years or so. guys, I'm only 25 and soooooo single :(. [as in, I'm only 25 and feel like 18 weddings is a lot to have been invited to, but also, I'm already 25 and super duper single sigh]

I need to drink more water / I feel like I'm constantly iron deficient? or low blood pressure or something?

pondering the efficacy of humidifiers and how helpful they really are

  1. YES blanket scarves! hehe

I don't wear nail polish either.

Five years from now we will still be friends!

I'm happy with how both of us turned out, after having left Indy and come back. :)

I like what your friend said to you about family. Another quote I really like is this: "You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart will always be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place." I agree that the key to developing and growing family-like bonds is mutual effort/understanding. Maybe more important than choosing who is part of your family is choosing to commit to that family? Or maybe equally important? IDK. I also think growing/doing life together and having shared life experiences is important to building friendships/family.

    "I'm only 25 and soooooo single :(." <-- I feel you...

I think humidifiers help! But then again I don't use one lol. Maybe I just like the idea of them. But I'm constantly dry so maybe I should get one.
