Plano

First time in Plano! Whoo! I guess I just wanted to commemorate some things I saw/learned...

I saw an antelope on the way here! That was weird. It was in an enclosed space, kind of like where people keep horses/cows, but it was there all by itself...just laying on the ground with its legs under it.

We stopped by Buc-ee's on the way and IT WAS SO COOL!!!! Seriously, who has candied jalapeƱo peppers??? That's crazy. They also have a lot of other super awesome and unique foods and I just wanted to buy the whole store. Not possible, of course, but I will definitely pick up some dried venison on our way back, as I have wanted to try venison ever since I read My Side of the Mountain (in 4th grade or something). I really like the big, well-furnished gas stops (such as Buc-ee's, Flying J's, etc.) because they have such cool stuff.

So I have heard it said that Plano and Sugarland are very much alike, and I discovered today that Plano also reminds me a little of Carmel. Vinita and I went to a dollar theater and watched Sherlock Holmes (dude they're so smart! And Watson would be a good guy to marry), and on our way out, I just thought about how different college is from real life. College = in a bubble but happy b/c of the freedom on campus. Real life = NOT in a bubble but happy b/c of the freedom in general. So, being in a bubble presents both pros and cons, as there are some things you'd rather know, but also some things you'd rather not know.

Indian food is so good. This, I already knew, but I have since learned more about the authentic cuisine. For example, did you know that Indian people eat salad? Except they don't eat generic salad--they actually mix the ingredients themselves. So I had a salad that contained shredded lettuce, shredded carrots, diced cucumbers, corn, and a vinaigrette. It was really good! I especially enjoyed the cool cucumber-corn combination. Also, Indian people make their own yogurt! And it's really good! It's just plain yogurt, but you can taste the healthiness in it. You can also add sugar =].

Well! Those are the main things so far. Living in a home again is.......I don't know. It's nice, and it's nice to not have to worry about my family. But it also raises in me the question of what my home will be like in the future.

About a conversation I had the other day--I think my dad would blow a gasket if he heard anyone say that about me. LOL.

One last thing. When I started my second blog (which was years ago....freshman year of high school), I remember posting a very anger-filled, un-Godly entry. One of my friends then said something to the effect of, "Make sure you're not lowering yourself to their level," and I realized that I was. So I wanted to take down the post, but I then decided not to, as a reminder to me of my flaws and failures, and also as an incentive to learn from my past mistakes. As with that blog, so with this one I will not take down any of my posts, however much I wish to because of pride. Yeah I just remembered this point recently.

Seems like life has been going around in a circle lately, as there have been so many things I've learned in the far past that I have re-learned/remembered in the near past. Kind of like in One Hundred Years of Solitude. That's a good book. I know I've said it before ;). Okay, I'm out. Peace.
