Arp! Arp! Okay, real quick even though there are many other things on my mind (as I said in my last post, but still can't write out yet hahahaha):
John Teter, who is the pastor of Fountain of Life Church, which is my ministry location for the summer and also my church for the summer, was a plenary speaker on evangelism at Urbana 2003 (that's right--FREAK OUT).
Dave Palmer, who gave the sermon today at FOL and who will continue to be here sometimes for the rest of the summer, led the Manuscript Study for the International Poverty Track at Urbana 2009 (that's right--THE ONE WE WERE AT).
And both have invited me to talk more with them over the summer--do you see what I'm getting at when I say that the Lord has led me to my ministry location? This is also one of the various (interesting yet logical) confirmations that I've recognized for my being here.
John Teter (pronounced teeter) is an awesome half-Korean half-something-else-Asian-I-think guy who planted the FOL church with his family in the Compton area. He's hilarious, well-founded Biblically, and super easy to talk to.
Dave Palmer, with his wife, lived in the slums of Calcutta, India, for five years. He evangelized to the Muslims there and planted house churches. Which then makes sense for him to be a part of the International Poverty Track.
Okay, done freaking out. I love my ministry location. Truly. God, thank you for it.
Good night!
