Today was arguably the last internship day at my beloved FOL. Arguably, because we went to Yogurtland and was treated to the fro-yo and debriefed (just as we had met at the beginning at Starbucks and been briefed. But that wasn't paid for). My beloved FOL, because I very firmly consider myself a part of this church.....even if I was only here for 10 weeks. Okay maybe I have more evidence for the 'beloved' part, as I do love it very much.
I'm going to be very sad leaving that community. One last service, one last potluck (they moved it back for us--SUPER SWEET), one last game of soccer. Ohhhhhh I'm going to miss them!!!!
And they're giving us stuff. Like a really nice notebook with a personal note inside and some FOL gear. Such as a black zip-up hoodie with their logo on one side. You bet I'll be sporting that on a regular basis (mm perhaps more towards winter....you know how Houston is).
I've arranged to stay at my aunt's place again for the week before I move back to Rice for advisor training. And get this: my mom's friend's niece from China is coming to Rice! So I've been appointed/accepted being the point person for her, and I'll for sure invite her to CCF.
Speaking of which, I miss you all desperately. Yes, desperately.
Shout out to Bev and Karen ;], who have reminded me of what real fellowship is like. Ah. It is like being refreshed by cool spring water. Life to my soul. How true the Bible is (always makes me smile when I have those "oh the Bible's so true!" moments....lol). Jesus refreshes me.
And you know what, my jammed finger is much better now. Albeit a little crooked.
Okay. Farmer's market tomorrow for the very last time (maybe). Good night!
