So when I came home, I noticed this new blender/mixer/something that my dad's been obsessed with. It is, of course, Asian, and is also pretty cool, I guess. You put in almonds, it'll make almond paste for you. You put in beans (green, red, black beans), it'll make bean paste or bean soup for you (and it heats it up too, so it comes out hot). It'll even make rice paste, although I have no idea what that is. The button that my dad (and I) have used the most, however, is the "Blend" button, the one that's used for making smoothies or smoothie-type-things. Now, I love smoothies, but for some reason, my dad INSISTS on adding sunflower seeds into the mix of strawberries, bananas, oranges, etc. He claims it adds flavor and is good for you; I disagree. On both counts.
Anyway, there have been times when I've persuaded him out of it.....I just thought it was kind of funny haha. Asian parents.
Anyway, I'm off to vacuum our house while listening to Glee.....not that I've ever seen the show, but I did discover a CD when I came back, and they are generally good, yes?
OH, and the air here smells sooooo good. Mm....'clean' is perhaps the more appropriate word. Driving around Carmel with the windows down is probably one of my favorite things to do when I'm back....(and no, that is not a sad commentary on my life, it is a happy thing =P).
.edit.
Defeated. My dad sent me this link a few hours ago: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=57. On the goodness of sunflower seeds. Who knew?
